When Luke wakes up he finds himself at a hospital with all the lights out. The docter steps before him and slits his throat with a knife and then Luke blacks out. Back at home Stan is doing homework with faith and they ocassionally kiss, uncle mick and Likes mother are talking in the back yard about how to hang the Christmas decorations, Fang is working on his car he just brought and the baby that died inside if the docters wife is soudly asleep inside of its crib. The docter knew Luke was the point of all the evil and death that was happening in their little town because he had the same little sense that led him to kill Luke.

After the funeral Faith takes Luke home. Luke walk through the door and there is a note from his mother saying that he needs to do the dishes when he gets home from the funeral and this really makes Luke pissed. He storms out of the house to go see his docter and friend at his house andplus he has a hot wife and the only thing holding her back is that she is pregnant.When he approaches the house he feels wierd but knocks anyway. The docter comes to the door all wide eyed and looks at Luke and smiles this crazy half smile and motions for him to come in. Luke walk in and the house automatically smells like death and Luke would know he runs for the door but the docter reaches for him and sticks him with a serenge.

When Luke reaches Fang's house he is in the back about to hang himself and he is screaming at Luke asking him why he should'nt do it. Luke doesnt know what to say so he goes over and yanks the cord away from Fang. Fang punches him in the face and and then says that Luke didnt help him in his time of need and then hangs himself right there for Luke to watch. Luke then calls the police and races out of the house to go see Faith. Luke has tears, dirt, and blood streaming down his face by the time he reaches Faith's house. She lets him inside and he explains all that has happened. She crys but calms him down.In the next couple of days they go to Fangs funeral together and Luke see's that there is not half as many people at his funeral than at Stan's and this makes Luke very sad.

Faith leaves Luke and Fang at the One Drum event and Luke takes Astelle home because she was high on drugs and beer. When Luke gets to her house her mother is there and she yells and screams at Luke because he knew about her and didn't tell her. But Luke calms them down and silently leaves like nothing has happened but deep down in his heart and everyone who knows him knows differently.When Luke reaches his house Faith Taylor is there to greet him.He lets her inside and they make up pretty quickly and they kiss but then the phone rings and Faith leaves the house without letting Luke know but he doesnt care because he found out that Fang needs his help.

Luke haas finally taken an interest in something else for a change and that is the lovely Faith Taylor. Faith also happens to be Stans ex-girlfriend. One night Luke and fang go to a Red Hot Chlli Peppers concert and who just happens to be in the back all by herself but the on and only Faith Taylor.It just happens to be that her sister left her there to be with her boyfriend and Faith could not even listen to the concert but kept looking for them. Fang was having a panic attack and needed a ride so Faith gave them one. The highway was shut down because of all the snow so they had to go to a hotel room and that was fine and dandy with Luke. The whole time they were there Faith and Luke became close. They talked abot stan, life, but mostly about their same taste in music.In the middle of the night Luke awakes from a horrible about his dead friend Astelle. The next morning Luke got home feeling Really horrible despite have slept beside the girl of his dreams all night. Luke could not get the vision of Astelle out of his head. The next morning Luke's mother had a whole day planned with him and even set him up to do the T-shirts for One Drum which is something he used to do with Stan.

Luke is still upset that his supposedly best friend Fang spilled his premonition to the media. Luke has had more premonitions since Stan and it really gets to him. The paster of their small town keeps pestering him to come know the lord because you need it and Luke will not fall for his BS. Luke's mother also tells him that his long lost uncle has been calling him. Luke does not want anything to do with him because he left his mother when they were young all by herself when their dad died. Luke's mother is upset that he will not talk to him so she spills the secret that she has kept from Luke and his Dad. Mick (which is the uncle) did not leave his mother on purpose but left three days before threir dad died because their dad was very destrought when their mom died and through all her stuff out and when he said they were moving into another house Mick left. The dad died falling off of the roof of the new house fixing the antena. After hearing this Luke try's not to feel any emotion. Luke insted of feeling sorry for hisself feels sorry for the dead girl he keeps seeing inside of his head withthe glowing words of Astelle.

The book I am reading is called Anthem of a Reluctant Prophet. The main character's name is Luke and he has just lost his bestfriend Stan but he already knew he was going to die just like his next door neighbor Mr.Bernoffski and the teenage girl. Luke has visions and emotions that he can sense when someone he has seen or know is going to die. The fact that he can not help them hurts and tears him apart to where he trashes his room and overdoses on Trazon. Everyone in the small town of Stokum feels sorry for him and reporters from Stan's death will not stop bothering him about the accident at the 7-Eleven. Will Luke overcome all of his emotions before he breaks completely.
